ART DIRECTION + DESIGN

Skipr is a service dedicated to enhancing efficient mobility in even the most intricate urban settings. This innovative service takes the form of a comprehensive app, seamlessly integrating wayfinding and ticketing for various transportation services with utmost ease—a true all-inclusive transit app. We collaborated with Skipr to develop a new brand that embodies Skipr's approachable and insightful voice. This involved creating a complete design system, extending from principles for marketing purposes to guidelines for the app's appearance and behavior.

The basics: dots, lines and curves

The foundation of this design system is comprised of dots, lines, and curves. These elements come from directional motifs found throughout existing transportation systems signifying connections, transitions, beginnings, and ends. They are the building blocks of the system’s stylistic treatments of icons, illustrations, and compositional layouts for all digital and print.

Applying the appropriate brand tone using the tonal spectrum of skipr

How skipr speaks needs to adapt to different contexts and to the current mode, mindset, and need state of our audience— whether it’s basic information, route guidance, or a connection to their daily life. Examples of the tonal spectrum are designed with purposes of Functional, Directional, and Emotional communication.
